WebOS Hub FAQs
webOS Hub is a cross-platform operating system developed by LG Electronics. It was first unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2018 and is the next stage of the original well-known webOS operating system from 2009.
All our TV sets use the latest licensed generation. This means that our TV sets are designed to function smoothly and be updateable for the next 10 years.
webOS Hub offers a wide range of features and options to make watching TV on the move as easy and convenient as at home. Special features include access to the Content Store (for downloading apps), a full web browser, artificial intelligence to accelerate frequently used features (ThinQ AI), the ability to stream content from a mobile device to the TV and, together with the Magic Remote, a voice assistant and gesture control.
The additional certification of our devices with the largest streaming providers such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube and Apple TV also ensures up-to-date functionality here, always and everywhere.

The LG ThinQ App is a mobile application developed by LG to simplify the management of smart home devices. It allows users to control and monitor compatible devices via smartphone or tablet. This includes our smart TVs, since they use the webOS Hub operating system. Via the app, the TV set can be controlled with a digital remote control or content can be shared with the TV set via the smartphone or tablet.
Yes, you can search for and download apps from the Content Store. The store currently offers over 1000 different apps. All these apps have been specially optimised for the TV set and guarantee the best possible functionality. A user account with LG is required to access and install the apps.
Depending on the popularity or size of the app provider, it may be the case that certain apps are unfortunately not available in the Content Store. As a manufacturer, we have no influence on which apps are available or not. If a certain app is not available, we advise you to open the page via the browser and to set up access there.
No, the Content Store can vary depending on the country and region. The apps and content available may vary from country to country, depending on regional laws, licences and partnerships. For example, some apps may be available in one country, but cannot be viewed or streamed in another country.
Yes, webOS Hub includes a built-in web browser that allows you to browse the internet. This also offers the possibility of playing back Flash-based content. This means that if an app is not available, the respective provider can usually also be opened via the browser.
Yes, you can connect your TV set to a smartphone or tablet. For devices with Android, this works via the DLNA interface and the screen sharing feature. On Apple devices with the iOS operating system, content such as pictures or videos can be shared via the LG ThinQ app.

All units with D in the name, such as SLA24DSBWPLUS, have a built-in slide-in DVD player. This requires control via the small square remote control.
To use this, insert the DVD into the drive and switch to the source [AV] via the source selection. Now press the power button on the DVD remote control to launch the system.
The DVD player then starts playback automatically.
During normal use, the [LIST] and then [...] keys can be used to switch between the reception sources. Quick access can also be used to make this switching even faster. To do so, proceed as follows:
Select the 1st programme from the range of SAT channels (e.g. ARD HD). Now press the 1 button on the remote control for a long time. Now wait until the message for quick access appears and confirm it with [YES].
Then select the 1st programme (e.g. ARD HD) in DVB-T2 (antenna) reception mode. Now press the 2 button on the remote control for a long time until the message for quick access appears again
Now you can change the reception mode with just one click by pressing the 1 or 2 button for a long time. Incidentally, this also works with frequently used apps, such as YouTube.
If you have purchased a Magic Remote at a later date, or if you have reset the remote or changed the batteries, it may be necessary to pair the remote control with the TV set again. To do this, point the remote control at the TV set and hold down the [GUIDE] button. After about 10-15 seconds, the TV set should display a message confirming the pairing.
Check the TV set’s power settings.
To do this, press the [Settings] button on the remote control and open the following path:
All Settings > General > Energy saving
Now check which energy-saving mode is set. The higher this is (e.g. maximum), the less power the unit consumes and the darker the display.
To do this, go to the settings and select the following path:
Settings > All settings > General > System > Restore factory settings.
All TV sets with webOS Hub as the operating system receive their updates exclusively via OTA in connection with a network (Internet access). To view the current software status and check whether an update is available, please proceed as follows:
Settings > All settings > Support > Software update
In addition to this, the TV set will automatically inform you with a message when a new update is available. Since webOS Hub is constantly being developed further, updates with new features or further improvements with regard to features or speed are also available here at regular intervals.
Check the back of the TV set and whether the Wi-Fi antennas have been installed correctly there. Our SL and SLA model lines always have two external Wi-Fi antennas (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz) for optimum reception. If these antennas have not been installed correctly or not at all, this can considerably limit the reception signal.
